I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
